Riding the creative wave is not for the faint of heart, or anyone looking for security of any kind. This is particularly true for the contemporary visual artist challenging presumed assumptions about identities of all kinds, including the relevance of identity as some fixed point.
In my view, contemporary art is the process of interconnected, intuitive creative action. This would be true of any multi faceted contemporary visual art practice. The language of administration may require compartmentalization, but living as and being an artist is in reality one integretated whole of movement. Boundaries are enforced. While sometimes a welcomed ledge to grab hold of, most times these interrupt the creative process.
